Inspire : Public Works Mar Apr 2015
16 Public Works Professional March-April 2015 FORGING THE WAY 2015 is going to be a big year for Young IPWEA. The annual face- to-face meeting in November saw a number of changeovers in the Divisional Chairs. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the outgoing Chairs for their amazing support and effort over the past couple of years: Renee Murphy (NZ), Anthony McMahon (NSW), Kurt Pitts (VIC) and Cameron Ives (QLD). It is great to be able to welcome on board new committee members who are filled with enthusiasm and fantastic ideas to continue to build Young IPWEA. New divisional chairs are: Dwayne Honor (QLD), Will Barton (NSW) and Chris Chapman (NZ). Personally, I would like to thank the committee for their ongoing support as I was re-nominated as the Young IPWEA Chair for another term. We are in the final stages of developing the Action Plan for the next two years. We have decided to focus on three key areas; these include: the establishment of a Young IPWEA flagship project; changing the perception of Public Works for students and graduates; and building our presence within IPWEA to become the voice of Young Professionals to the industry. We look for ward to working with you all to continue to grow Young IPWEA! Hopefully I will see you at the conference in Rotorua! Don't forget to bring along your young comrades!
